Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.0Doing it there has a lot more hassle... you can only do so one at a time... and you can't root out the Connections students using messages..., at least not like when you have a question that all can see...

Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.0I would just like to say. Kids are smarter than that. Every time i answer a question *not my original account, i go to connections* i get asked if i attend connections. I know a few people that cheat all the time. This isnt going to stop them.

Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.2HALALUJA FINALLY SOMEBODY GETS IT! Guys florida virual school and Connections academy are in a batlle with openstudy...they are mad because students are getting answers from this website. Understand, they are threatening suspension or even expulsion if you disobey them! We want to protect you! that means we have to suspend you! I have personally assisted in the writing of letters to these schools and I am fed up with all of the outright cheating as i know mrs preetha and all the mods are! Thank you sam! Thank you! You just made this a lot easier.

terenzreignz

Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.0So... questions that go like "Does anyone go to Connections Algebra 1b" or something like that... that's the giveaway, right?

terenzreignz
Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.0Did it ever occur to them that these online virtual schools were not yet completely thoughtout? I mean, it offers so many avenues for cheating that are simply unavailable in a conventional classroom situation.

SnuggieLad

Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.2Terenz we also have plenty of mods and members who go to these schools and can tell us if they have taken these tests!

Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.1its not that we do not want connections academy students here; but most of the posts that we come across titles to the effect: im in connections academy and want to find someone in my class and grade to swap answers with so email/message/give me answers" type posts we simply just suspend the account and delete the material.

Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.2Also @amistre64 and @.Sam. and all of the mods admins and ambies are here to protect you! These schools want to suspend kids and ban kids for this stuff. You make it so easy for them. By posting i go to Connections Academy. All they have to do is pose as a kid ask you to go to a link that looks like a connections link and BOOM your username will pop up as on that page and they will know you are the one using the site. I am not paranoid. It has happened before!

Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.0I take online school, and I come here to ask questions when I don't know how to do a specific problem, is that cheating?

e.mccormick
Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.0@trumpetmaster7777 , I believe the point of contention is this: When you are in a normal class, you can get tutoring help with your homework. You can learn in class (hopefully) but are not limited to just learning in class. However, when you take a test in class, you are watched and not able to get help from other people. The assorted online schools are trying to emulate this model of the classroom. So your test is supposed to be you alone doing the work. However, people are using the assorted resources of the internet to pass their test, including getting other people to answer the question for you. Now, there is a certain expectation for an online test to be completed with the internet providing some answers. What was not expected, and is getting people banned, is that second part: getting other people to answer the question for you. Now, what follows is 100% my opinion, and nothing official here: If the test is not timed and they know references will be used, there is one way to use OpenStudy that is not cheating! Take the question you don't understand and find or make another question that is similar to it. Then bring the similar question to OpenStudy and say, "I am trying to answer a question like this one and I don't get it. Can someone teach me how to do a question like this?" And when people reply, "Why not post your question?" You have the answer of, "Because it is on a test, and that would be cheating. So I want to learn how to do it, then I can answer it on my own, which is not cheating." Then you can focus on learning and applying what you learned. That is best to do long before a test, but even the best of us get things wrong, forget bits, and so on. However, if references are allowed on the test, then learning the how as you are doing the test, but not getting someone to answer for you, is using a reference.

Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.0I love how people are like... WHAT?!?! People literally copy paste or SCREENSHOT their homework and people just give the answers away without showing any work or providing any explanation. They will literally post a question and the first response will simply be: 'a'. Those people should be suspended too :P

anonymous

Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.0grrr. like i said, i'm stupid. someone mind telling me the formula for converting seconds into hours then?

anonymous
Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.0Yes, it is. I'm stupid. I've already said that.

anonymous
Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.0I mean you know there are 60 minutes in an hour and 60 seconds in a minute...what formula? \[1 \sec * \frac{1 \min}{60 \sec} * \frac{1 \text{hr}}{60 \min}=\frac{1 \text{hr}}{3600}\]

anonymous
Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.0So every second is a 3600th of an hour so if you have 3600 seconds you have exactly one hour or: \[\frac{76140}{3600} \text{hr}=21.15 \text{hr}\]
