    The humanistic perspective says that it's important for people to make healthy choices, all on their own. It believes that when people are motivated to make good choices, without influence from anyone else, those good choices are more likely to stay, and lead to more healthy decisions. This is called "self determination." Again, the humanistic perspective believes that it's important for people to make healthy decisions, for themselves, by themselves.
