i tend to create my own formula, since we are trying to find 3 means, the range divides into 3+1 parts, the common add on to a is:\[\frac{range}{4}\]\[\frac{b-a}{4}\] then just start at "a" and add it on 3 times

if you look at it as an arithmetic sequence: 175, 175+d, 175+d+d, 175+d+d+d, 235 175 + d+d+d+d = 235 175 + 4d = 235 4d = 235 - 175 d = (235-175)/4
