If someone could at least lead me in the right direction that'd be great. I'm desperate guys this is the last of a take home test that I don't understand! Related Rates help please! A chemical tank on the shore of a lake is leaking a toxic substance into the lake at the rate of 100cm^3/minute. The slick is semicircular in shape has a thickness of .5cm. a) After 1 hour how big an area does the slick cover? b) At 1 hour, at what rate is the radius of the slick changing? By the way, this is for my BC Calc class

asking for help for a test even if it is take home is still considered cheating the point of the test is to see what you've learned not what we know besides, its take home, use other resources like your textbook

1. The teacher assigned as take home so we could get help from others; he allowed us to work on together in class 2. Textbooks have already been turned so that is not an option

Perhaps you are allowed to get help from others in your class. However, a large portion of the users here already know the material you need help with. Thus, in my opinion, this is still considered cheating.

What is the point of replying if you're not going to help the person? I understand most related rates however this problem has confused as I continue to rework it. My teacher specifically said we are allowed to get help from anyone because we have already taken our AP test and at this point he isn't trying to hurt our grades.

Well, here's a pointer in the right direction: \[V=\frac{1}{2}\pi r^2 (.5)\]\[A=\frac{1}{2}\pi r^2\]\[\frac{dV}{dt}=100\]P.S. The \(\frac{1}{2}\)'s are there because it's a semicircle.
