This is slightly different...notice it is now sideways....this is resulted by switching the 'x' and 'y' and also switching the 'h' and 'k' x = a(y - k)² + h same thing for this one....you have a vertex (1,3)(h,k) and you have a point (4,4)(x,y) plugging those in we have 4 = a(4 - 3)² + 1 solve for 'a'

not quite 4 = a(4-3)² + 1 4 = a(1)² + 1 4 = a(1) + 1 4 = a + 1 a = 3 so if 'a' = 3 ...what is your answer?
