just add them up. the perimeter is the length of "the outside".

Explanation I added 3+6+8 together to get 17x. I got the plus sign because that's the sign that is being use the most, and then I added 1 + 2 and then subtracted 2 to get 1. So that's how I got the answer 17x + 1. So the answer is, c. 17x + 1
