Or is it just a string for an assignment?

If you mean the index method, it is for searching inside a string or other list and reporting where something is. http://www.tutorialspoint.com/python/string_index.htm http://stackoverflow.com/questions/176918/in-python-how-do-i-find-the-index-of-an-item-given-a-list-containing-it

Just looking for clarification. Wasn't sure if the question had been in the wrong section or whether we were talking about a "function index" or the "function, index". :)
