Ok so its 3*(the sum of a number and 7)
is means equal
2 less from 5*the number
So let the number =x
So 3*(x+7)= 2 less from 5x

ok....3 times the sum of a number and 7......the um of a number and 7 = (x + 7) and 3 times this is 3(x + 7)...."is " means equals. Two less then 5 times the number.....5x - 2. Which comes down to 3(x + 7) = 5x - 2
Do you understand ?
