The code for counting the number of inversions in mergesort is in this file:

the list displayed for the integers in the file should be:
[42, 43,44,45,46]
but the output is coming as
['2', '3', '4', '4', '4', '4', '4', '4', '5', '6']
Why so the numbers tens and ones places of the numbers is separated ?
