Need atleast one of each of these examples ( the other three can be whatever example): -one poem -one newspaper or magazine article -one advertisement or commercial -one song -one greeting card -one comic strip
@splatter6 the assignment is to find one example of each humor device i listed and my project needs to include at least one of those examples i listed but i cant seem to find any examples that are useful.
That would be cheating You shouldn't do that It would be misleading you might be able to use this one lol Your lazy as a cat This is frowned upon I am disappointed Cheating is wrong I am double jointed If I was you I would think harder Dont know what to do Your a stinky farter It's really sort of easy I do it all the time Sometimes it's cheesy But you don't even have to rhyme
What do you mean byu the ones you find are not useful?
@e.mccormick i mean like every humor device i find isnt what i need
That would be cheating Your lazy as a cat sorry about tht lol it messed up in the copy and paste
im just asking if you can help me find the examples not do the project cause there is way for to it than this
http://www.google.com/search?q=pun+example First result: http://www.punoftheday.com/cgi-bin/disppuns.pl First example there: The two pianists had a good marriage. They always were in a chord. Hyla Hope Harder - Oklahoma Seems perfectly useful to me.
@splatter6 What cadence would that be on?
in a sarcastic could of way like you're using only study sites to do homework is ironic and humorous I think
I store my poems in some odd ways: ftp
220-I do but say, in the light of day,
220-that there is no fear of fray
220-or that which keeps at bay.
220-For why? For sooth,
220-'tis time honored tradition
220-in the kindhearted condition
220-of dearest position
220-known to the physician
220-as heart's ambition.
220 Yea, I say, 'tis love.

That was more a reply to splatter6. As for you, I showed how I found one of your 9 in seconds... and got no reply or comment.
oh i didnt see it sorry
oh sorry dude i was spacing out lol
@e.mccormick i've found things like that too its just that i dont know what type of example it is, like the one you gave would it be considered a quote?
im not the best with english i can just come up with poems fast and stuff like tht if you need a song i could find one
The Google searched one? It is a search for a pun. The one on my FTP server? That is literally my poetry... I just published it via my FTP server. Neither are an example of a quote.
i meant the with the site you gave from the search. i could use one of those examples given as a quote or like what?
It really seems to be that simple with this one, google search with the word example and the device, one at a time, and you should get a definition with an example or example alone of each. As for a poem, song, comic, and so on, there are TONS of those online. See: Another poem and it only took seconds to find: In heaven's door lies a key, but for only you and me to see. It is neither slender nor round, the shape something more profound. From nativity's cry to bier's wake, this door's handle we can not shake. When final moments have done past, to such a place we do repast. Finding not food of body or want, what we eat is repast of haunt. Between here and there we do see, oh such the life of you and me. Ponder and wonder in moments time, unpleasantry too by seeing crime. Such was all our joy and hate, what we shared in our fate. But now the key spins in seal, and final fate does a deal. Hearts of joy and sorrow sing, this now our final fling. Once crossed the hearth of there, closed now our book's fair. Does return the door's closure, key twisting with composure. Who now will will it be, next death's door to see.
oh dude i have a poem but i dont think its humorous cause it makes me cry everytime i read it but u might be able to use it Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
