x + y + z =10, EQN 1 5x + 2y + 3z =28, EQN 2 3x + 3y + z =20 EQN 3 so from 1: x = 10 - y - z EQN 1a sub 1a into 2 5x + 2y + 3z =28 5(10 - y - z) + 2y + 3z =28 50 - 5y - 5z +2y + 3z = 28
