how?? i cannot eliminate two variables because whenever I multiply one of the equations with a number only one variable gets eliminated..

try solving using gaussian elimination. or cramers rule. Gauss = matrix; Cramers rule = determinants.

@Data_LG2 I would personally try the matrix option. Its an option that sometimesis shown in certain math classes and sometimes is not. Ive seen people learn it as early as intermiediate algebra. Most learn it at the college algebra level, some learn it as a part of finite and statistics, some get through calculus and beyond an dhave never solved one in their life. It just depends. But I can show you the Gaussian elimination (row operations) method and we can see how that turns out : )
