During the 1945 conference in Potsdam, A. Churchill replaced Clement Atlee as prime minister of Britain. B. Stalin reneged on his pledge to enter the war against Japan in the Pacific. C. the Big Three decided that Poland, Bulgaria, and Romania would be independent. D. the Big Three formalized the plan to divide Germany into four zones of occupation. ( everyone is saying D, but why couldnt it be A?) can someone please explain.

i think the Big Three formalized the plan to divide Germany into four zones of occupation is correct because the Potsdam conference decided that Germany would be divided into 4 zones of occupation. Later, the four zones would become two, east and west Germany. This divide became the physical manifestation of the impending Cold War.
