Do you recognizer the "Parabola" (y+2) = 2x^2 With vertex at (0,-2) and opening down?

Why is that difficult. Pick some x-vales and GO! I might recommend x = 0, 1, 2, 3

But I just don't understand how i choose the values. Do i just pick some x values?

Pretty much. Whatever it takes for you to get an idea. Generally, I like values that will make my life easier. Don't pick 3.28473625276, for example. This is why I suggested 0, 1, 2, and 3. If you know something about symmetry, this is actually picking way more than you think.

Yes ok, so once i choose those x values, how does it affect the y? Like my teacher got:|dw:1377827732448:dw|

Notice how +1 and -1 produced the same value. Notice how +2and -2produced the same value. This is not a coincidence. This is Symmetry!

ah ok. SO once i have these values i just plug them into the equation right?

No, you did that already. That's why both columns are populated. Now is the time to plot the points on a set of coordinate axes!
