In the triangle I circled find sin 45
anonymous
  • anonymous
so is that sin 45 degrees= opp./hyp.
AravindG
  • AravindG
yes
AravindG
  • AravindG
here opp side is i and hypotenuse root(6)
anonymous
  • anonymous
so i is about 1.732

?
AravindG
  • AravindG
yes

and j how do i find j?
anonymous
  • anonymous
is it tan 30= i/j
AravindG
  • AravindG
yep :)
AravindG
  • AravindG
Now you know i so its easy ;)
anonymous
  • anonymous
so j = 0.333
AravindG
  • AravindG
I am getting 3
anonymous
  • anonymous
tan 30= i/j tan 30 = 1.732/j 0.333=j
AravindG
  • AravindG
tan30=1/root(3)=root(3)/j j=3
anonymous
  • anonymous
huh? i dont get it
AravindG

or just multiply... square root of 3/j X 1/squareroot of 3... to get 3 out of root form or whatever?
AravindG
  • AravindG
just cross multiply you will get j=3
