APA style writing question: How to use a footnote to let a reader know more info. on something in a sentence can be found in a specific book, BUT, not nessessarily on a specific page of that book. Normal in-text citations are (Author, year, #), but what about footnote additions with no #, and I don't mean electronic sources.

In APA, a footnote MUST use a number if it is for content notes. http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/560/04/

Don't use footnotes in APA unless you absolutely, ABSOLUTELY must. State all the important information within your thesis and cite it.
