\[14x^6y\] \[divided by 2xy =\] times \[3x^4y^2 =\] \[dividedby 3x^2y^5 = \] times \[-5x^0y^-3\]

So far I've gotten: 14x^6y^(1)/2xy(1) = 7x^5 3x^4y^2) = 21x^9y^2/3x^2y^-5 = 7x^7y^5/y^2 = 7x^7y^3(-5x^0y^-3) = ? I'm not sure what that would equal though, wouldn't the ^0 render the whole equation 1?

x^0=1 :)

so its -5(1)y-3
anonymous
  • anonymous
Okay! -5y^-3(7x^7y^3)

the first step |dw:1378161278494:dw|
anonymous

So 7x^5(3x^4y^2). which would then equal 21x^9y^2.
anonymous
  • anonymous
Yup :D 7x^5(3x^4y^2)= 21x^9y^2. Assuming you did the previous steps right :)
anonymous
  • anonymous
Okay! Then 21x^9y^2/3x^2y^-5, which then equals 7x^7y^5.
anonymous
  • anonymous
clean it a bit 14x^6y^(1)/2xy(1) = (7x^5) *(3x^4y^2) =( 21x^9y^2)/(3x^2y^-5) = (7x^7y^5)/(y^2) = (7x^7y^3)(-5x^0y^-3) = ?
anonymous
  • anonymous
Oops, I meant 7x^7y^3.
anonymous
  • anonymous
Then -5y^-3(7x^7y^3).
