A)Giraffe necks would get longer over a lifetime of stretching, and their offspring would inherit the longer necks of their parents. B)All giraffes were born with short necks, but eating acacia leaves would cause them to stretch over a lifetime. C)The first giraffe to evolve had a long neck and passed the trait to its offspring with no further change in the species since. D)Only the giraffes with the longest necks would survive and be able to produce offspring.
Are there multiple choice? :)
yupp haha :D
The answers A
thank you !!!!!! :D
Not a problem lol
You just a had a random person come in here and give you a medal rofl
Over millions of years, hominid species learned to use and create tools that became more complex over time. They eventually shaped stone into knives used for cutting, and they harnessed fire for light, heat, and cooking food. Which of the following best explains what effect this had on hominid evolution? A)Hominid tooth size decreased as they relied on cooked foods and tools for A)cutting. B)Hominid brain size decreased as life became easier with the advent of tools. C)Hominid hands developed smaller thumbs as they developed finer tools. D)Hominid front limbs became longer in proportion to the rest of their body.
i think its c
yeah i know lmfao 0.o haha weird but ohh well :D
I think it's A. Because the tools were designed to suit the hands, I think it's unlikely that hands evolved to suit the tools. Also, I don't see why tool use would affect limb size. But if the food were softer (from cooking) and the early humans could make it softer still by pounding it with rocks and cutting up with sticks (I assume, I really should not speculate about caveman cooking practices), it would remove the necessity for humans to have very big rugged teeth. They could get by with smaller ones instead and those genes eventually became widespread in the population...
I might be wrong though
The following observations have been made about moose living in the northeastern forests of the United States. 1)Male moose grow very broad antlers each year and lose them after the mating season in autumn. 2)Large, heavy antlers can make escaping predators in a forest difficult if the trees grow closely together or if the underbrush is thick. 3)Female moose do not develop antlers. 4)Female moose raise their calves alone without the assistance of males. What is the most likely inference that can be drawn from these observations? A)Having antlers makes the males grow bigger so they can better compete for food in the fall. B)Antlers make a male moose more likely to attract a mate and pass on the gene for antlers. C)Male moose spend all their excess energy growing antlers and cannot help raise offspring. D)Male moose without antlers are more attractive to females because they can escape predators.
i think it is b
I'm pretty sure it's A
There's a chance it's A though
B I mean*
lol yeah :D
Scientists have observed that pythons have vestigial leg bones. They have also observed that snakes in general have more DNA sequences in common with four-legged geckos than they do with legless eels. What do these two observations have in common? A)They both suggest that geckos evolved from snakes. B)They both suggest that pythons are more primitive than other snakes. C)They both suggest that snakes evolved from an ancestor with legs. D)They both suggest that snakes evolved from geckos.
It's C I'm pretty sure
kk thank you ! In general, how are the causes of mass extinctions different from the causes of background extinction? A)Mass extinctions generally result from the slow accumulation of changes to the environment while background extinction results from loss of genetic diversity. B)Mass extinctions happen when populations crash due to overpopulation while background extinctions are more likely to result from disease. C)Mass extinctions result from fast and drastic changes to the environment while the causes of background extinction take place slowly over time. D)Mass extinctions tend to result from habitat loss while background extinctions result from loss of biodiversity.
Background extinctions are not caused by major catastrophes, but by small changes in climate or habitat, like depleted resources.
It's C if I'm right lol
It might be D
OKAY THANK YOU AND SORRY WENT TO GO GET LUNCH !
