ok if you use your calculator : Area of rectangle will be 6.1*8.1 = 49.41 sq. cm
But both your measurements have only two significant digits (6.1 and 8.1). So the answer cannot have more than two significant digits.
so the answer is 49 (we round off the extra digits)
