Well, you're only looking at the (x-#) portion of the graph. When you have (x+#) or (x-#), it is a movement left and right. If it is (x - ), it is a movement right by however many units the number there is. If it is (x + ), you move left by whatever the number is. So basically the two graphs you have are the same, except one has (x-8)^2 in it instead of (x-0)^2 *it technically is (x-0)^2 whenever you see just x^2*
