Did I solve this correctly? So the problem is 3(2x+7)>36. So I distributed the 3. To get 6x+ 21>36. I took away the 36 to get - 15. So I ended up with 6x=15 and when I divided it, I got -2.5. I don't think I solved the problem right

It would be easier if you just subtract 21.

instead of distributing 3, you can divide both sides of the equation by 3

I would have done this. \(3(2x+7)>36\) \(2x+7>12\) \(2x>5\) \(x>\dfrac{5}{2}\)

I don't think you would divide out of any of the values in the parenthesis. You treat that as it's own nice neat little unit do you not?
