To be clear, sqrt (16 + x^2) does *not* simplify to 4 + x, because (4 + x)^2 = 16 + 8x + x^2. Instead, set it up as y = sqrt(16 + x^2) and square both sides, keeping in mind that the right side *must* be 0 or positive. You end up with: y^2 = 16 + x^2, which becomes 16 = y^2 - x^2, which is a hyperbola. Keep the appropriate part and you're set. Best of luck.

I understand you... But based on the explanation that ayaguspsky gave you , it its simplified to 16=y^2-x^2 , which if you put it on a graph calculator it will give you that image that I sent you, and Know you just have to learn hou to finde the demain and range.

Are you sure the function is f(x)=sqrt(16+x^2) and not f(x)=sqrt(16-x^2)? Becaues the graph you drew looks like a half circle and that is what the second function would look like. f(x)=sqrt(16-x^2) --> y^2+x^2=16 for y>=0 which is half circle with a center at the origin and 4 units radius. However if f(x)=sqrt(16+x^2) is the function you are asking you can put values for x and calculate y with a calculator and then draw these values on a graph paper.
