    Don't post it online publicly. Make sure you post it privately to your teacher via an Email service or a Learning Management System.

    i just need lets say you wrote story but u want protect it before posting online What should you do to help protect your copyright?

    I would put my name on it and put a disclaimer or something then.

    Tell them directly and explicitly that the essay is not to be plagiarized and that legal consequences will take place if they do.( You will sue their retriceoff)

    Yes password protection That one is definitely good but you have to make sure you use something that is not easily crackable like an MD5 hash encryption

    Give the password out to only people you trust.
