    They definitely don't receive as much attention, just the same as third-party political candidates are rarely elected, and rarely even known of. I'm just not sure of what affect this has on politics, or voters and political activists.

    But, they help out the main nominees and give a more wide range for who to pick as the next president, and VP

    They help out main nominees by taking away votes from the opposing candidates. You just helped me solve my own answer. Thanks! :-) The thought was in my mind, I just couldn't form it on my own.
