Im having problems downloading python. I'm using ubuntu 12.04. It seems to only download read files.

    python should be already installed on ubuntu. Go to the terminal and type in python. It should open up the python shell.

    Here is a link to Python installation on Linux systems. http://docs.python.org/3.3/using/unix.html#getting-and-installing-the-latest-version-of-python This is for version 3.3 which is the latest non-beta version but if you have a different version you can find installation instructions by changing the version number in the top-left corner
