Hi! I have been conducting a qualitative study on this study group from the start until the end of December 2013. The purpose of this study is to understand how participants interpret the use of medals and how they give medals to responders in the study group. I would like to ask you few questions here (one at the time). I hope someone will take the time to respond.
Question 1: What do you think about the use of medals?
Thank you for your help,

Since the people doing the mooc cycle through in waves, I am not sure how much of a response you will get at any given moment.
I am well aware of this. I thought about inviting some participants for interviews or uploading a short survey. But both present several issues. I am trying this way because I thought that the study group members come here for other purposes. Let's see if somebody replies.
Many do. You could also ask in the Feedback section to get some contrast between the study group users and and the site users as a whole.
