when a triangle is divided in 2 2 halves by a line parallel to the base it divides the other sides proportionally.. which means \[X : (X+ 5) = (X2) :( X+1)\]

same rule... sides r proportional which means if the length u want to find is x \[\frac{ 40 }{ 48 } = \frac{ x }{ 56 }\] got it :) ?

40/48 = x/56 5/6 = x/56 6x = 280 x = 280/6 = 140/3 = 46 2/3 ?
