Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.0You go at your own pace, most courses have assignments and quizes. Personally I prefer the courses with the lectures and assignments. 6.00 2011 is a great starting point that also uses python

Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.0That one may not be, but check out http://ocw.mit.edu/courses/electricalengineeringandcomputerscience/600scintroductiontocomputerscienceandprogrammingspring2011/ It's a beginning course also, with video lectures that work a lot better for some people (like me) There are still assignments and tests that you can do at your own pace, but any reading is purely voluntary
