    you have 6x^2+6x-9x-9 the only terms that are like terms are the two terms that have the same variable part which is the term 6x and the term -9x What do you get when you add 6x and -9x? 6x+(-9x) or you could say 6x-9x or you could say -(9-6)x what is 9-6?
