Official Notebook support: Could we ever see the Notebook extension be implemented officially? Current problems are: 1. Note data stored locally and thus hard to manage between devices. Also people have told me they lost their note data because they cleared browser local storage. 2. Only supported in Chrome Even if I were to set up a server to save the data, there would still need to be some authentication to prevent people form messing with each others notes.

I recently had a switch between computers and I lost months worth of LaTeX codes and many different equations and problems. So a server to save data wouldn't hurt. Also I noticed how when I would create a new note and(for example) I entered in a LaTeX code to save. But when I came back to my notebooks I noticed how this note was blank. Also when I had gotten my new computer I re-downloaded the notebook on here but as you said it only works on Chrome and I generally use Firefox for every day tasks. So making it an official plugin or an addition to the site would be nice :)

I just create a backup in a txt file once in a while in case of the worst. make sure to use unicode instead of ANSI to keep special characters intact. But yea it would be a wonderful addition to OS

There is a new initiative that @hero is involved in that might be good for this.

One thing I could change to notebook in the future is to allow it template. Like this: http://handlebarsjs.com/ Then it would allow you to input JavaScript expressions that would be evaluated. It would be able to calculate stuff for you.

I love the notebook extension, if it were implemented officially, it would be a tremendous advantage for all.

Well know we have the OpenStudy Qouting made by @wio https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/open-study-quoting/daeffggacpioiaekojicffekajgcejgb Thankfully Wio fixed the mixup between the the Quouting and Notebook :D

If anyone knows how to make Firefox extensions, they are free to make the Firefox version.
