    first lets break this up so we can use the FOIL method. Do you know how to do that?

    Not quite. we can rewrite this as (8x+3)(8x+3) = 16

    If we take the square root of both sides then we get (8x+3)= 4 That equation is much more simple to solve.

    remember the square root undoes a square and vise versa.
