    Well is would just be canyon and you'll want to use the first time it appears because the second is just reiteration. So we know that it is either A or D because canyon is being modified.

    Can you tell me id "is not" or "in the desert" does more to further describe the canyon to you?

    Well if I was giving you directions to find this canyon, would it be easier for you to find if I said "The canyon is not the deepest in the world." or "The canyon in the desert." Desert would most likely narrow it down more. So you would want that.
