    well it just needs a little pythagoras a regular hexagon is made up of 6 equilateral triangles.... so the length ED = 5... since AE is a radius and the perpendicular line from the centre of a circle to a chord, bisects the chord. |dw:1432843730734:dw| so to find a \[a^2 = 5^2 - 2.5^2\] hope it helps
