I can't help you on this portfolio thing because it seems that there's a drawn diagram that you were supposed to make and I don't have that, but do you have any questions on the test that you need help with?
Hmm, ok give me a second.
2. haploids have only half of the genetic information, half of which it gets is determined by the parent so hapliods come together to make a diploid.
4. one homologous chromosome is inherited from the organism's mother the other from the organism's father.
5. crossing over and independent assortment of maternal and paternal chromosomes at the stage of meoisis and genetic material from each other and I do not see a seventh question....
7. In terms of adaptation, what advantage does sexual reproduction provide for a species?
thank you so much!
You're welcome :) 7. As the offspring carries characteristics from both parents provides a host of advantages, including improved defense against disease and deadly parasites.
As the offspring carries characteristics from both parents IT provides a host of advantages, including improved defense against disease and deadly parasites. Sorry typo
okay thank you:)
What would happen to the possible variation in gametes if the number of chromosome pairs increased from two to three? What if the number increased again from three to four?
one homologous chromosome is inherited from the organism's mother, the other from the organism's father.
It has to do with the fact that the more chromosomes there are, the more opportunity there is for crossing-over and recombination. These increase variation in the gametes.
okay thank you!
You're welcome! I need to go, so if you have any more questions i wont be online, but tomorrow i would be online to answer. :)
okay sounds good, thank you so much!
