Andrea worked up quite an appetite during the game. She eats half of the pizza that is !8" in diameter. What is the are of the pizza that she ate?

    Well area of a circle is \[A=\pi*r^2\] and the radius is 1/2 of the diameter. So do\[\frac{ 18 }{ 2 }=r\] And then plug the value you find into the area of a circle formula. At this point you will have the area of the total pizza. Just divide the total area by 2 to find how much she ate.

    That would be the area of the total pizza. We're looking for the area of half of the pizza. Divide what you have by 2.
