find the period and amplitude of the periodic function? y = -5 cos 6x

    \[\huge\rm y = a \cos (bx)\] simple standard form where a is amplitude and to find period p = 2pi/b

    Hmm. The amplitude of this function seems like -5. Because cos6x cannot get a value more then 1, so -5 times 1 equals -5. It swings back and forth between -5 and +5. But I am not sure about the period.
