explain how reducing the amount of sunlight in an ocean ecosystem could cause greater competition among the consumers?

    A reduction in sunlight will affect the blue green algae at the very base of the food chain. Everything else would then have less available food. If the food chains crash at their base like this, it will cause catastrophic changes at higher trophic levels.
