so, which is it? =) every single one of you was wrong. C is right. we learn that in chemistry class. wikipedia: 'According to their shared physical and chemical properties, the elements can be classified into the major categories of metals, metalloids (semimetals) and nonmetals.' all elements can theoretically exist in all aggregation states (solid, liquid, gas). thus, B is definitely wrong. and A, too, as the answers just don't match :-) two element groups and one aggregation state... C is right.
