Help please? Some people feel that music is meant to put a smile on our faces, or make us dance and forget the troubles of the world. In your opinion, is music meant to be pure entertainment, or does it serve a social and/or political purpose? Choose a historical period. Then, using specific examples from musical history of that period, discuss the role of music in society.

Well, it all depends on whom your target audience is, as well as how you feel or how you look at people... or your environment... or even something as goofy as your pizza getting burnt in the oven.

My opinion is every song has a story behind it. Maybe not for all, but it's certainly true for me.
