The refractive index of water is greater than that of air but is less than that of glass or a diamond. Under which condition can there be total internal reflection in water?

    Total internal reflection will occur when light travels from a medium with a higher index of refraction, to a medium with a lower index of refraction, once the angle of incidence reaches or exceeds the critical angle.
