    A function is a set of ordered pairs in which each x value has only one y value associated with it first number in order pair is x-coordinate ~ http://www.regentsprep.org/regents/math/algtrig/atp5/lfunction.htm in order to relation becomes a functions, x values shouldn't repeat and for graph we have to do vertical line test if graph of the function hits the vertical line more than one spot than graph is not a function
