Could anyone help me put this sentence in different words? When a basketball hits the court, its bounce actually loses momentum by transferring some of its energy into a different form. This means that to keep the ball bouncing, players must continually put more energy into the ball.

When you play basketball and you bounce the ball, it loses momentum by passing its energy to a different form.

That means to make sure the ball bounces continually, players must put more force into the ball when they bounce it toward the ground.
