On December 4th of the same year, the DJIA decreased by 2.51% of its December 3rd closing. On December 5th of the same year, the DJIA increased by 3.09% of its December 4th closing.     suppose x is original... then you just use multipliers.. x * (1- 0.0251) * 1.0309 gives answer
