    molecules probably compounds are made up of elements and compounds

    The answer would be A (atoms of elements). The answers C and D can easily be eliminated because they don't really pertain to the question, and the reason why the answer isn't D(molecules) is because compounds are a type of molecule that contains at least two different elements(atoms). This is why water is a compound. It contains 3 atoms of 2 different elements (hydrogen and oxygen)
