There are only two statistics that could represent a typical user, the mean and the median. The others are measures of dispersion. The mean is very sensitive to outliers. The median is not. You want a statistic that is insensitive to outliers. http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=median+55%2C+50%2C+54%2C+51%2C+52%2C+53%2C+50%2C+51%2C+2%2C+56%2C+55%2C+56%2C+54%2C+57%2C+55 Does this make sense?
