When you ask questions you're increasing your smartscore! Isn't that cool? You can increase your smartscore just by making threads you need help on! Not to mention the amount of medals you earn and give out can help increase it faster! But keep in mind, spamming yourself with medals isn't allowed on here and will not increase your smartscore fast at all. Another thing about engagement is that the longer you're on here, the higher your smartscore goes too!

I think Engagement score is linked with your learning abilities in OS. Raise this score by: ~asking questions ~getting medals from your own posts ~Not sure about this one, but the said that it will also increase by simply logging in here.

Well all you mainly have to do is come to OS and get medals for questions you asked. But dont medal spam...... But after that then thats it :D

ahh okay, but my engagement score is still the same even though I keep logging in here. The last time it increased was when I posted a question in math (long time ago) :)

I'll try to ask questions, my ratio of asking new questions to helping other questions is low.

Engagement is the hardest of them to increase. I have found a few tricky ways to raise it. The main one is of course asking questions. Closing a question helps too. Did you know..? Logging in everyday gives you just a slight boost in engagement. Those are the top ways to do it, but there is a tricky way as well. If you were to get more than one medal per post, it won't count towards your ss, or at least the second medal won't. Getting one medal per post usually does good. On closed questions the medals are worth less! WOW! And of course, The higher the ss, the more the medal is worth. Make sure you don't ask too many questions in a short period of time. Take it SLOW and you can make it there easier. It is hard to increase, but make that a priority. Let's take a look at some people with high engagement shall we? @bohotness @hhelpplzzzz @thomaster @goformit100 @iheartfood. Those are the ones that just came to mind, but if you solely focus on asking questions, It can go up twice a day. Problem solving usually never drops. It is engagement and definitely TEAMWORK! Hope this intro. helped you! :) thanks @perl

You don't need to ask questions; take one look at @jim_thompson5910 and you can see he has a rather high engagement without ever asking a question. Take another look at @confluxepic and you realize that if you want a high engagement you have to have been on OpenStudy for a long time. Jim's days studied: 1218 Conflux's days studied: 250 And you can see, that Con has a 59 in engagement, and Jim has a 68. You have 397 days studied. If you keep logging in every day, then eventually your engagement will increase slowly. The faster way is to ask questions though.

I have every single thing that raises it, however yoru issue is you cannot raise it much reason being well heres what stops it from rising much ip check, just lowers your points a little a kick from a subject will lower it and make any points you get from things that raise your engagment be worth less points (not as bad as a warning) a warning will lower it and make any points you get from things that raise your engagment be worth less points (meh not to bad) a user report will lower it and make any points you get from things that raise your engagment be worth less points (not much) suspension will lower your point value quite a bit and make any points you get from things that raise your engagement be worth less points (A LOT! like enough to make you still be 96 when you have enough points without the suspension to be 98, however this will NOT lower your smartscore, ONLY your engagment value, your engagment will go down, but this slows down the ability to raise any subscore... engagment is the worst in this case... If preetha knew how technicly all this data is stored in a JSON file for reports suspensions warnings ip checks and stuff like that, technicly if preetha knew where said file was she could erase these sorts of things from a persons account so that it would no longer affect there smartscore...)
