well $\tan (\theta) = \frac{\sin(\theta)}{\cos(\theta)}$ so the problem is $\frac{\sin(\theta)}{\frac{\sin(\theta)}{\cos(\theta)}}$ when you divide by a fraction, flip and multiply $\sin(\theta) \times \frac{\cos(\theta)}{\sin(\theta)}$ what do you get when you remove the common factor..?

3. anonymous

cos(theta)
