A porch has the shape of a quarter circle with a diameter of 5 ft. What is the approximate area of the porch, rounded to the nearest square foot? Use 3.14 to approximate π.

    3.14 x 2.5 x 2.5 = 19.625? maybeh?

    Find the circumference then divide it by 1/2 then 1/2 again to find it.

    so 3.14 x 5 =15.7 div 2 = 7.85 div 2 = 3.925?

    area=πr^2, and if your trying to find a quarter of that then you can divide by 1/2 twice. SO ya it looks like you got it right.
