Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.0But the 6 is a negative, so would it be 3 and 6?

nikato

Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.2yes. lets use the bigger one. you what do you get if you factor out a 6?

Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.2ok. now lets look at what's inside the paranthese, do you know how to factor that?

Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.0Sorry it took so long, had to find a pencil and paper

nikato

Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.2wait, i think you did the oppsite. i think you distributed instead of factoring. you have something that looks like 6(x__)(x+__)

Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.0Ooooh, alright. Haha, sorry I get confused by the two. How would I factor then?

Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.2dw:1433970053677:dw to factor this, you want to find two numbers when multiply gives you AC, but when you add them, you get B

nikato

Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.2so in this case, you're looking for two numbers that multiply to give you 4, but when you add them, you'll get 3

Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.0That took me so long to get I feel so stupid right now XD

Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.2yea. and because there's A=1. you dont have to worry about coefficients. so the factored form of x^23x+4= (x4)(x+1)

nikato

Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.2wait, is you problem right? are you sure it's not +24

anonymous

Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.0Yup, I'm positive. 6x^2 +18 24

nikato

Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.2oops. but i dont think you have factor it to (x4)(x+1) because if you FOIL and check it you have x^23x4., but you want +4 so this doesnt work so the most you can factor up to is 6(x^2 3x +4)

anonymous

Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.0Oh, okay. I see how you got that. Yeah, thats one of the answer choices. Thank you for your help! Since you spent 30 minutes trying to help me out I'll give you a medal AND fan!

Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.2yea. sorry for wasting your time. should've done it ahead of time. but you learned how to check it.

Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.0Nah its alright, you didn't waste any time. I just wanted to know how to do this, but the lesson wasn't very clear in my opinion. Thanks for the help :D
