to find the area i added three additional points to the shape to split the shape into 5 different shapes. i added points G H and I. G is located at -2,3. H is located at 4,3 and I is located at -2,2. the first shape i found the area of was triangle AGF. using the distance formula to find the base and the height of the triangle i got 3 as my base and 3 as my height. 1/2x3x3= 4.5 is my area. for the second shape (triangle ABI) i got two as my base and 4 as my height using the distance formula. 1/2x4x2=4 so 4 would be the area. for the third shape (triangle BCI) i got 2 for base and 5 for height. 1/2x2x5=5 so the area was 5. for the fourth shape (triangle DEH) i got i as base and 6 as height. 1/2x1x6=3 is the area. and finally for the 5th shape (square GCDH) i got 6 as base and 6 as height 6x6=36 is the area. so 4.5+4+5+3+36= 52.5 is the area of the hole shape

i re did it but im still getting two
B= (-5,2) I = (-2,2) it's not hard
b is -4,2
i re drew it wrong

if -5 is correct then 57 is correct
but you could've done abc as 1 triangle - not 2
the person helping me before didn't tell me which one was the base and which one was the height so i made it into two to make it more understandable for me
